Meanwhile in Malaysia, a 4G-equipped Car Coming Soon


automaker proton and wireless carrier yes, both based in malaysa, have announced their colaboration to come up with a line of 4G-connected cars. apart in providing WIFI hotspot for passenger the project aims to utilize the 4G connectivity for multiple automotive-related applications such as vehicle diagnostics, security, and GPS.

Yes is Malaysia’s leading wireless provider, covering over 65 percent of the country as well as the whole 960 kilometers of its North-South Expressway and a “large portion” of its East-Coast Expressway. We are not sure how these vehicles become 4G-connected overseas.
Proton and Yes claim the first vehicle developed from this 4G collaboration, the P3-21A sedan, will be available soon.
